Why you should always pick your friends call (moral lesson)

During the burial of this young man, another young man was crying out his heart. He wept uncontrollably that many people kept wondering what is wrong with him.

The mc dropped the microphone and went and took this weeping young man to a corner, calmed him down and he started to explain.

He was with the guy that died the day he met his death. He drove off first and on getting to a particular spot, he noticed that some armed robbers were getting ready to block the road and resume operation. He managed to escape.

He started calling his friend to tell him what he saw, that he should remain where he was. This friend would not pick his call. To him: “why is he calling?

He should know that I am driving right behind him”. He refused to pick the call as this guy kept calling and calling. Finally, he drove into the now ready armed robbers and they pumped countless bullets on him.
He died on the spot and armed robbers stole his car. This man was crying because he knew his friend killed himself. Many of us are just like this.

Are you the one buying the credit for him or her? Pick your call when your phone rings and know why you are been called. If the phone rings twenty times in one minute, pick in all occasions. He was saving credit for his friend because I am driving straight to where he is, he met his death.
You are in an occasion and you are calling someone you are looking at because you want to pass a crucial information, he ignores the call and is walking up to you instead, even when you are making sign that he should pick the call.

It is possible that this caller didn’t want you to come near him because he wanted to code something. Pick your call and say hello.

Some people will not pick calls from numbers they don’t know and I wonder:
HOW MANY PEOPLE DO YOU KNOW ON PLANET EARTH? DO YOU EVER THINK THAT THOSE PEOPLE YOU KNOW ARE ALL YOU NEED IN LIFE?

Note something, there is no one individual that knows up to 1% of the world population. Is it not insanity for you to restrict your life to just 1% of global population? What of the remaining 99%? Many people have missed life saving opportunities because they refused to pick a particular call.

PICK YOUR PHONE WHEN IT RINGS AS LONG AS YOU ARE AVAILABLE. ONE CALL CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE FOR THE BETTER AND REFUSAL TO PICK A PARTICULAR CALL CAN TAKE YOU TO UNTIMELY DEATH.

5 Nigerian Stews, Sauces You Can Make Without Tomatoes

Tomatoes is a favourite staple in Nigeria, and so, a large number of people who cannot cope with the inflation in its price are hesitant to make the widely enjoyed stew and are now seeking alternative ways to make sauces with which to complement their daily meals.
In a bid to find a solution, we have put together a list of 5 economical, local stews and sauces that can be made without tomatoes.

Garden egg sauce

A very popular delicacy in the southern parts of the country, Garden egg sauce can substitute for the tomato stew any day. The basic ingredients needed include: Garden eggs (either purple “aubergine”, white or green), palm oil, smoked fish, ground pepper (either chili or scotch bonnet), iru (rinsed), onion, crayfish and salt to taste. It can be used to eat rice, yam or plantain.

Banga stew

Popularly referred to as Ofe Akwu, banga stew is a palm nut stew native to the Igbo tribe of Nigeria. While making this stew can take a lot of time as you have to extract the palm oil juice from the palm nuts, it is usually worth the stress in the end as the taste is absolutely yummy. The only ingredients you need include: palm fruits or palm fruit concentrate, beef, dry fish, vegetable (scent leaves for ofe akwu or dried and crushed bitter leaves for Delta-style banga soup), onions, crayfish, stock cubes, iru, salt and chilli pepper (to taste)

Ofada stew

Also called “Ayamase”, Ofada stew that is usually made to go with a special kind of local rice referred to as Ofada rice. The sauce can however be used to eat normal white rice, yam, plantain and even spaghetti. The sauce is pretty easy to make and the only ingredients you need include: unripe habanero peppers, green tatashe or green bell peppers, locust bean seasoning (iru, ogiri okpei or dawadawa), red palm oil, onion, crayfish, assorted meat and fish.

Miyan Kuka

A delicacy from the northern part of the country, Miyan Kuka is also known as the Boabab leaf stew. It is a favorite of the Hausa tribe and is usually served with white rice. The key ingredients for preparing this stew include : beef, onion, dried fish, hot peppers (washed, soaked and flaked), kuka [baobab] leaves (pounded to paste), dawadawa(fermented dried seeds of the African locust bean pressed into a ball or a cake), yaji(suya seasoning), a pinch of potash, palm oil, seasoning cubes and of course, salt to taste.

Pumpkin leaf sauce

Pumpkin leaf, otherwise known as Ugu, is one of most widely used vegetables in Nigeria. Pumpkin leaf sauce which is not only very tasty but also very healthy is basically a sautee of fluted pumpkin leaf and onions. It certainly does not taste a long time to cook. The ingredients needed include: chopped pumpkin leaves, seasoned beef or chicken, sliced to strips (optional), meat stock, vegetable oil, chilli pepper, onion bulb, seasoning and salt to taste.

Oil, Electricity Workers Opt Out Of Strike

By Micheal Oche
The leadership crisis rocking the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) yesterday manifested itself as the Joe Ajaero faction of the NLC insisted that it would not join the Comrade Ayuba Wabba-led NLC to embark on the strike planned for tomorrow.
Also, the federal government has insisted that there is no option to the increment of the pump price of fuel.
Yesterday, stakeholders in the Labour sector, including the governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, and other government officials were locked in a meeting at the office of the secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal.
The meeting, which was summoned at the instance of the SGF, was being held to avert the proposed nationwide strike by the NLC and the TUC scheduled for Wednesday, May 18, 2016.
However a mild drama played out as the general secretary of the Nigeria Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE), Joe Ajaero, and the president National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), Igwe Achese, both of whom are president and deputy president of the rival NLC faction, were locked out of the meeting.
Speaking during the opening session, both the SGF, Babachir Lawal, and the minister of state for petroleum, Dr Ibe Kachikwu, insisted that the new price increment would remain, saying there was no other option to the hike.
Speaking to journalists outside, NUPENG president, Achese, said oil and bank workers, who are part of his faction, would not be joining the strike on tomorrow.
The meeting, which kicked off at about 6:30pm, had in attendance the NLC president, Ayuba Wabba; TUC president, Bobboi Bala Kiagama; NLC general secretary, Peter Ozo-Eson, and TUC acting general secretary, Simeso Amachree, among others.
The president of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN),Olabode Johnson, was on the Labour side.
On the government side was minister of labour and employment, Chris Ngige; the SGF, Babachir Lawal; minister of state for petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu; minister of solid minerals, Kayode Fayemi and Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomhole
LEADERSHIP gathered that Governor Oshiomhole had earlier met with the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, possibly to harmonise federal government’s position before they went for the closed-door meeting at the SGF’s office.
At the time of filing this report the meeting was ongoing, but it was not clear whether the NLC would present a common position before the federal government, especially as the factional president, Joe Ajaero, was also at the venue of the meeting.
NUPENG and PENGASSAN, two prominent unions within the oil industry, had earlier endorsed the deregulation policy of the federal government which caused a sharp increase in the price of fuel from N86.50 to N145 per litre.
Speaking outside the meeting, Comrade Ajaero said his group would not be joining the strike on Wednesday, adding that his faction would also be meeting with the federal government’s team immediately after the meeting with the Wabba faction.
